When Family Members or Friends Sexually Offend

Help, healing and a circle of hope

This workshop can be modified for professional audiences, but is primarily intended for community members. Most of us do not know what to do or say in situations where a friend or family member sexually offends. As a result, we remain silent, shocked, ashamed or at a loss for words. Unfortunately, secrecy is a major vulnerability factor for one who sexually offends, so our own inability to speak openly and with compassion perpetuates the shroud of secrecy.

This workshop will teach friends and family members the tools, understanding and language needed create an effective support network that promotes healing for the offender. It is documented that offenders who have completed treatment programs and have developed effective and wide support networks have the highest rates of successful recovery.
