The Magnificent Tapestry of Healing

Healing adult survivors of childhood abuse.

As therapists look compassionately at adults who enter treatment, they may ask themselves, "Who would this person have been had they not been so brutally mistreated?" Yet early physical, emotional, and or sexual assaults have shaped adult client's lives, resulting in symptoms of self-blame, intrusive memories, dissociation, sexual dysfunction, substance and food abuse, and self-mutilation.

Through a feminist and societal sensitive approach, this workshop will guide therapists to help clients rediscover their strengths and renew lost aspects of themselves frozen in time from the trauma. We will present specific individual, family, and group interventions, learn how The Collaborative Stage Treatment model can be applied, and how to move the client beyond the survival mode into a state of healing.
